Billing & Customer Service Specialist

Location: Virginia, MN | Onsite

Pay: $28.69/hr | Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Duration: ~6 months

Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and looking for a role that makes an impact in your community? We are seeking a Billing & Customer Service Specialist to join our team for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upload and download electronic meter reading files as needed.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to customers and employees, explaining policies, handling complaints, and resolving discrepancies.
• Receive and process cash, checks, credit card, and electronic payments for utility bills, deposits, and merchandise; prepare daily deposits and electronic ACH files; reconcile cash receipts.
• Compare, check, and verify data with speed and accuracy to identify errors.
• Answer incoming telephone and radio calls; assist customers with billing and service questions.
• Enter Accounts Receivable invoices and credit memos into the system; print and review reports, statements, and prepare mailings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable handling cash and electronic payments accurately.
• Experience with data entry and basic accounting or billing systems preferred.
